President, GSTJ
Mr. Molazzem Hossain, Advocate
|
 |
Our President, Mr. Molazzem Hossain, a practicing lawyer of the
Calcutta High Court, has dedicated more than two decades to the
legal profession and incorporated in his repertoire a diverse
range of practice areas including Property, Municipal, Family,
Company, Panchayat, Wakf, Muslim and in the recent past has
developed a keen interest in Information Technology related
jurisprudence. Mr. Hossain has to his credit the distinction of
co-authoring the book “The West Bengal Panchayat Act 1973 &
Allied Rules”, a valuable tome for legal professionals working
in the field of Panchayat laws. |
|
Mr. Hossain was deeply concerned about the lack of awareness
regarding cyber laws in the eastern region of India, which
prompted him to jointly initiate a project that is now known as
the Global School of Tech Juris.
“Cyber Laws is an area that is strangely underrated, despite the
fact that professionals excelling in this area worldwide are
doing quite well for themselves. Electronic Commerce, Cyber IPR
and E-Crimes, the three integral parts of cyber jurisprudence,
will give Indian professionals a new dimension to work with”,
feels Mr. Hossain, who is confident that courts in Calcutta will
be witnessing an increasing number of cases in the near future
not only related to cyber crimes but also e-contracts and domain
name disputes.

Vice President, GSTJ
Mr. Misum Hossain |
 |
The GSTJ Certified Cyber Laws
Program has been devised by the Vice President Mr. Misum Hossain,
who completed his legal education from London and is currently
focussed on encouraging the growth of Cyber Law & Cyber
Forensics education in the country.
A Cyber Laws Analyst, Mr. Hossain has had the opportunity of
conducting lectures in several prestigious Law Colleges of India
including ILS Law College (Pune), Government Law College
(Mumbai), Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (Pune),
a constituent institute of Symbiosis
International Education Centre
|
|
(SIEC)
and Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College (Pune),
a constituent
unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. Mr.
Hossain was part of the Senior Faculty at the Asian School of
Cyber Laws, a Pune based educational institute in the field of
information technology laws.
He has also conducted several seminars on Information Security
and Cyber Insurance in Pune’s National Insurance Academy (NIA)
on behalf of Asian School of Cyber Laws as part of training
programmes for professionals in the Insurance industry.
In March 2006 Mr. Hossain was invited as the Guest Speaker on
the field of Cyber Laws in a Seminar on Information Security,
Ethical Hacking and Cyber Laws organized by Birla Vishwakarma
Mahavidyalaya Engineering College, Gujarat.
After his arrival from UK in 2003 and extensive interaction with
students and professionals he noticed a definite lack of
awareness about Information Technology Laws and the serious
consequences in case of non-compliances. This problem required
to be addressed at the core level among students and
professionals by imparting knowledge about technology related
laws. This resulted in Mr. Hossain taking part in the initiative
of launching Kolkata’s first cyber laws institute, Global School
of Tech Juris, in an attempt to promote awareness and cater to
the growing needs of knowledge about legal compliance for
technology and the increasing concerns about cyber crimes.
His first book in the field of Cyber Laws titled “Hossain’s
Guide On Cyber Laws and Cyber Crimes – A Comprehensive Manual On
Technology Jurisprudence” is dedicated to a similar cause of
demystifying the convoluted jargon of Computer Law and making it
intelligible to a wider audience.
Mr. Hossain has also written several White Papers and
Articles on Cyber Laws, Cyber Crimes and Cyber Intellectual
Property Rights.
